INFLUENCER CHARGED AFTER BILLING A LOCAL RESTAURANT $4,200 FOR EATING THERE AND POSTING ABOUT IT NORTHVIEW, MI — Brittney Crawford, 26, was charged after sending a local restaurant an invoice for $4,200, listing herself as a "brand partner" despite never contacting the owners before showing up, eating a full meal, and posting a video about it. Staff said Crawford arrived with a ring light and a folding tripod, filmed for nearly an hour, then asked to speak with a manager and handed over a printed invoice broken into line items including "content creation," "audience reach," and "emotional labor." Police say Crawford had prepared the paperwork in advance, and recovered the following items from her tote bag at the scene: A branded invoice template with the restaurant's logo already pasted in A printed engagement report claiming reach numbers nobody could verify A laminated one-sheet titled "COLLABORATION RATES 2026" A second invoice, pre-filled and ready for the restaurant next door A note reminding herself to "mention the discount code even though none existed" "I've run this restaurant for nineteen years and handled plenty of demanding customers," said owner Frank Delgado. The restaurant's register declined to comment, though staff confirmed Crawford's table was never actually charged for the meal itself. She came for content and left with an invoice.
