SACRAMENTO, CA — Hailey Morgan, 27, a server at a midtown Sacramento chain grill, was arrested Saturday night after allegedly chasing a customer's SUV three blocks on foot while pressing a $0 tip receipt against the windshield at every stop. According to the police report, a party of five closed out a $231 tab, signed the slip with an empty tip line, and pulled out of the lot. Morgan reportedly snatched the receipt off the table, ran out the side door, and caught up to the SUV at the first light. Responding officers say witnesses reported: - Morgan jogging beside the vehicle holding the slip flat against the glass - A backup copy of the receipt clipped to her order book - Her reading the subtotal out loud "like a scoreboard" - The blank tip line traced over in pen until the paper tore - Morgan tapping the windshield at three separate intersections The driver told police he finally stopped because he thought something was wrong with his car. "She told us she just wanted the table to 'review their decision,'" said Sacramento PD Officer Denise Halloway. "She said she was prepared to wait at the window all night." The order book was logged into evidence and declined to comment. Morgan was charged with disorderly conduct and released Sunday. She reportedly asked the booking officer whether the table had "left a Google review yet." She ran three blocks to deliver one receipt. The tip line stayed blank. The cuffs did not.
