WAITRESS CHASED A CUSTOMER INTO THE PARKING LOT AFTER HE LEFT $0 ON A $203 TABLE BELMONT RIDGE, NC — A server followed a customer out of a restaurant and across the parking lot Saturday evening holding his receipt in the air, calling out to him after he signed a $203 check with the tip line left blank. Kaylee Brandstetter, 25, had waited on the table of seven for just over two hours. The report lists the following details: Brandstetter caught up with him roughly forty feet from his vehicle She held the receipt up and asked him twice whether he had meant to leave it blank She did not touch him, block him, or raise her voice above conversational level She had split the check four ways at the table's request and re-run one card twice The party had ordered two rounds of appetizers and sent one entree back She had already been tipped out on the rest of her section that night Other customers reportedly stopped in the lot to watch, and two people came out of the restaurant behind her without saying anything. He got into his SUV without responding and pulled out of the lot. A couple who witnessed it went back inside and left her $50 on their own table. He signed a blank line. The lot saw the whole thing.
