EX RETURNS EVERY GIFT TO HIS MOM'S PORCH WITH AN ITEMIZED LIST

EX RETURNS EVERY GIFT TO HIS MOM'S PORCH WITH AN ITEMIZED LIST Chloe Maddox returned a three-year relationship to her ex's mother and demanded a signature confirming receipt. The Raleigh, North Carolina, woman arranged gifts across the porch in chronological order. Each had a label listing its date, estimated value and the apology she believed it represented. A teddy bear was described as "late Valentine's effort, poor quality." Dried flowers came with depreciation calculations. A framed photograph was valued at zero, which Chloe had underlined twice. Her ex's mother, Elaine, opened the door in slippers and asked whether any of this required her involvement. Chloe produced a clipboard. Elaine said she wasn't a returns department. Chloe said she'd raised the manufacturer. That joke would have landed better if Chloe had then gone home. Instead, she blocked the steps, rang the bell repeatedly and insisted Elaine contact her son for a live inventory review. After being asked to leave several times, Chloe began reading the list loudly enough for the neighbors to follow. An argument over a novelty mug became a driveway audience event. The confrontation ended with her arrest. Elaine boxed up the items and called her son. He recognized most of them, except an expensive bracelet he'd never bought. Chloe later asked for that one back immediately. Elaine told her requests had to be submitted with the correct item number and original documentation. For the first time all day, Chloe objected to unnecessary paperwork. Would you accept your adult child's breakup delivery, or tell both of them your porch is closed for business?
