77-YEAR-OLD WOMAN CHARGED AFTER HOSTING A LOUD RAVE IN A RETIREMENT HOME REC ROOM DAYTON, OH — Patricia Webb, 77, was arrested and charged with disturbing the peace after deputies say she organized and hosted a full electronic dance party in the Sunset View Retirement Community rec room, complete with a rented fog machine, strobe lights, and a subwoofer that reportedly rattled windows three floors up. Deputies say the event ran until nearly 2 a.m., well past the facility's posted 9 p.m. quiet hours. She reportedly rented the sound and lighting equipment for $340 from a local party supply company Deputies say at least 25 residents attended, several reportedly in matching glow bracelets She allegedly told staff, "we've earned the right to actually let loose for once" Facility management says the fog machine set off two separate smoke detectors during the night Deputies say the subwoofer was audible from the parking lot, three floors below the rec room She reportedly had a rotating DJ schedule planned for "at least the next three weekends" She allegedly asked deputies if the noise citation could be "settled with a guest pass instead" A staff member who discovered the party said walking into a fog-filled rec room with strobe lights and residents dancing was "the last thing anyone expected on a Tuesday overnight shift." Officer Melissa Trask, Metro PD, 8 years on the force, said, "We've had noise complaints from retirement communities before. First time it involved an actual fog machine and a DJ rotation."
