FLORIDA MAN CHARGED AFTER HIRING A MARIACHI BAND TO FOLLOW HIS BOSS DURING LUNCH BREAK BAYSHORE POINT, FL — Anthony Reddick, 43, was charged Tuesday after police say he hired a six-piece mariachi band to follow his supervisor for an entire lunch hour, playing continuously from the office door to the sandwich shop and back. Officers say the band trailed the man at a distance of roughly eight feet for 58 straight minutes without a break. Investigators say the booking was arranged days in advance: He paid $700 and provided a photo, a schedule, and the supervisor's usual lunch route The set list included four songs plus one specifically requested repeat performance The band followed the man inside the sandwich shop and continued playing at the counter He instructed them to stop only when the supervisor returned to his desk Coworkers reportedly gathered at the windows and filmed the walk back He had already scheduled a second performance for the following Friday, which was canceled Other diners at the sandwich shop reportedly applauded enthusiastically before slowly realizing the man at the counter was not enjoying any of it. "They played well. That was never the problem," said Officer Luis Barrantes, a 19-year veteran of the department. "That man could not order a sandwich in peace. Fifty-eight minutes." The sheet music, now packed away, declined to comment. He never once raised his voice at the office. He hired six musicians to do it for him.
