He allegedly charged $8 per vehicle using a hand-lettered sandwich board sign Staff say he parked cars in spaces already free in the restaurant's own lot Investigators found no valet license or business registration under his name Customers reportedly handed over keys without question during the late-night rush Vance told officers he'd "seen real valets do it" and figured he could too One customer said "he even opened my door for me — I genuinely thought Waffle House had upgraded." "I've cited unlicensed contractors, unlicensed barbers, one unlicensed tattoo booth in a van," said Officer Renee Castillo. "Never an unlicensed valet operating out of a Waffle House parking lot at two in the morning." The sandwich board sign, still propped by the curb, reportedly declined to comment.
