FLORIDA MAN ARRESTED AFTER POSTING VIDEO OF THE CRIME WITH THE CAPTION "DONT TELL" BRADENTON, FL — Marco Villareal, 24, was arrested and charged with grand theft after deputies say he posted a video of himself stealing a jet ski from a marina, captioned simply "dont tell," to an account with over 900 followers. Deputies say the video was reported to them directly by three separate followers within an hour of posting. The jet ski, valued at roughly $9,000, was recovered two days later at a nearby boat ramp He allegedly filmed the entire theft in one continuous, well-lit shot Deputies say the caption included no punctuation and zero attempt at anonymity His face was reportedly clearly visible for the full 40-second clip He allegedly replied to a comment asking "is this real" with a laughing emoji Deputies say the video had already been screen-recorded and shared before they arrived He reportedly deleted the post only after seeing patrol lights outside his apartment Marina staff say dock damage from the theft added another $300 in repairs A follower who reported the video said she assumed it was a joke until she recognized the marina from her own neighborhood. Deputy Investigator Sam Whitcomb, 11 years on the force, said, "We've solved cases from tips, from cameras. This is the first one the suspect solved for us."
